Insurance Fraud Investigation

Do you suspect a claim is fraudulent? We deliver the evidence to prove it.

Insurance fraud costs the sector millions of euros every year. Whether it involves fabricated damage, inflated claims, or staged accidents, fraudsters are becoming increasingly sophisticated. A private detective uncovers the truth.

Types of insurance fraud

  • Inflated claims. The actual damage is exaggerated to obtain a higher payout
  • Fabricated damage. Damage that never occurred is claimed
  • Staged accidents. An accident or burglary is deliberately staged
  • Disability fraud. Someone reports sick or disabled but works elsewhere or performs activities incompatible with the claimed incapacity
  • Double claims. The same damage is claimed from multiple insurers
  • Identity fraud. Insurance is taken out with false information to make a later claim

Signs of insurance fraud

Not every suspicious claim is fraud, but certain patterns warrant further investigation:

  • The claimant cannot provide a consistent account
  • The amount claimed is disproportionate to the circumstances
  • There are contradictions between the statement and available data
  • The claimant pushes for rapid settlement
  • There are previous suspicious claims from the same person
  • The claimant is listed as disabled but displays activity incompatible with that claim

How we investigate insurance fraud

We observe claimants at multiple times and document contradictory behaviour. Examples: someone claiming disability while performing physically demanding activities, a vehicle that is still being driven after a supposed "total loss", or a claimant with an active social life while claiming to be bedridden. Each observation is recorded with exact times, locations, and visual material.

For insurers and businesses

We work with insurers, claims experts, lawyers, and corporate legal teams. Our report contains photo and video evidence and is directly usable to reject a fraudulent claim, reclaim a payout, or initiate criminal proceedings. All investigation methods comply with the Private Investigation Act.

Frequently asked questions about insurance fraud

Can an insurer hire a private detective?

Yes, insurers may hire a private detective to investigate suspicious claims. This is standard practice and legally permitted as long as the detective operates within the law.

What if someone is registered as disabled but is still working?

If a claimant performs activities incompatible with their claimed disability, this can be considered fraud. We document these activities with visual material.

How long does an insurance fraud investigation take?

This depends on the complexity. A simple observation can be completed within a few days. More complex cases with multiple parties involved take more time. We always provide an estimate in advance.
